At Lehni, the year 2024 will be marked by the 60th anniversary of Andreas Christen's legendary aluminium shelf. The shelf was created for the 1964 Expo in Lausanne with the help of Max Bill and was subsequently added to Lehni's product range. Today, it is one of the most important classics of Swiss furniture design.
Reason enough to honour the design icon with various events and activities. Keep up to date via the Lehni newsletter and this website.
Lehni is delighted to announce the collaboration with ANDREAS MURKUDIS. To celebrate, ANDREAS MURKUDIS will host a vernissage at his STORE 77 at Potsdamerstrasse 77 in Berlin on Saturday, 1 July from 2 to 6 pm.
The exhibition includes some of the most iconic designs from the Lehni collection, such as the aluminium shelf by Andreas Christen, the wall/ceiling lamp by Georg Gisel and the Lehni side table from 1979, as well as some metal furniture from the Donald Judd collection and pictures by photographer and former company owner Doris Lehni Quarella. The exhibition will be on display until the end of August 2023.
Andreas Murkudis' STORE 77 serves as a playground for him to present a theme, a product or a brand in depth. Depending on the current exhibition, the gallery-like space contains either works of art, the finest fashion or a selection of handmade furniture and ceramics. Customised products, a curated selection of brands and celebratory events make ANDREAS MURKUDIS 77 a unique experience in art, fashion, furniture and design.
From now on, the Lehni collection in Germany can also be found at Andreas Murkudis.
Lehni is delighted to be a guest at the "Abitare in Residence" off-space of Chur-based interior design specialist abitare from 31 August to 19 September 2023 as part of Zurich Design Weeks.
The off-space is located at Hafnerstrasse 45 in one of the last original courtyards in Zurich's Kreis 5 district, where Andreas Christen was once a frequent visitor: He was allowed to sand and spray his work here on Sundays with master painter Christian. In the former premises of the painter's workshop, a unique meeting place is being created that is entirely dedicated to furniture design, furnished with traditional and more recent Swiss and international design labels.
The exhibition will be on display until the end of 2023 Opening hours Thursday and Friday 13:30 - 18:00.
