Bernese country house
In this newly constructed building in Kernenried near Burgdorf, many things were approached from a different angle - including the kitchen. Neither the kitchen peninsula nor the shelving unit designed as a counter, nor the spacious cabinet holding three kitchen appliances, are standard kitchen components. They were all made to measure and customised by Lehni to meet the individual needs of the residents.

Loorenhalde house in Zurich Witikon
The renovation of a residential house in Zurich Witikon by Jolles Architects reveals the potential of painted metal. Although the kitchen is densely fitted with cabinets, the distinct colouring make it appear open, fresh, and pleasant. Like Donald Judd in his work with Lehni, Jolles Architects also use the possibilities of powder-coated aluminium to realise their design ideas.
