Christian Paul Kägi
With his holistic understanding of design, Christian Paul Kägi has helped shape a wide range of projects for international clients – from interiors to furniture and products, and from visual communication to brand identities.
After studying typographic design in Bern and graduating with a degree in industrial design from the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), he founded the design studio Aekae with Fabrice Aeberhard. Greatly influenced by Swiss modernism, Kägi has always been interested in materials, manufacturing processes, and the sustainable use of resources. This interest led to the creation of his own brands and projects where he could apply holistic thinking. It also gave rise to the QWSTION bag label, which Kägi has been focussing on as Creative Director since 2015 – in addition to occasionally working as a lecturer in the Product Design Master programme at ECAL.
QWSTION's backpacks, made from plant fibres, are known for combining function and design with sustainability. The focus lies on creating versatile products for everyday use with an understated aesthetic and the smallest possible ecological footprint.
