Frédéric Dedelley
"Experience, craftsmanship, tradition and role models all play a role in the examination of form, function and construction, as do seemingly incidental influences and impressions. The aim is to recognise the extraordinary, to question conventions and conventional solutions. A wonderful, daily new adventure in the design of products, editions, interior design, and exhibitions."
Born in Fribourg in 1964, Frédéric Dedelley studied product design at ECAL in Lausanne and at the Art Centre College of Design (Europe). His training thus combined the more intellectual European way of thinking with a rather mediation-orientated American approach. Before opening his own studio in Zurich in 1995, he gained experience in various studios in Paris, San Francisco, and Switzerland. From 2001 to 2016, he taught design at the universities of Basel and Lucerne. Today, Frédéric Dedelley works in the fields of furniture, interior design and exhibition design and pursues independent artistic projects.
